THE Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) refers to the recall of Simplicity Inc baby cribs in the United States. These cots were manufactured in China and are the latest in a string of problematic consumer products that have been taken off the market lately.  

According to reports, one million of these cots were recalled after at least two babies became trapped and died. More than 60 incidents involving these cots have also been reported. 

CAP calls on the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry to inform the public whether these particular cribs are being sold on the Malaysian market and, if so, whether a recall has been initiated.  

In such cases, the manufacturers or distributors should give their customers a refund.
